Mickey Fine, 80-year-old Ponca City resident, passed away October 16, 2018.
Burial is 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 20, 2018, at Mound Cemetery, Taloga.
Memorial service follows at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Taloga.
Mickey Fine, 80, of Ponca City passed away Tuesday (October 16th, 2018) at home. Ethyl May Gore was born May 4th, 1938 to Clay Richard & Sylvia (Allen) Gore at Lenora, Oklahoma. She married Dennis Ray Fine on June 1st, 1959 in Weatherford.
She is preceded in death by her father Clay Richard Gore and her mother Sylvia Fern Gore, and a niece Jodie of Taloga. Surviving are her husband of 60 years Dennis Ray Fine of Ponca City, a daughter Lynn Denise Goodale of Ponca City and her husband, Mike, and their two children, Emily Trout and her husband Ryan of Jenks, and Christa Hernandez and her husband Raul of Cuernavaca, Mexico; and Mickey’s great grandchildren, Emily and Ryan’s two daughters Molly and Kylee, Raul and Christa’s two daughters Allie and Olivia; a son Mark Allen Fine of Ponca City; a sister Anita Logan and her husband Bobby of Taloga, and their daughter Tammy Loveless and her husband Steve of Tulsa.
Mickey was the nickname given to Ethyl early on by her parents and it stuck with her all her life. Clay and Sylvia moved their family 3 miles south of Taloga to a small farm. Mickey graduated from Taloga High School in May of 1956, and then attended and graduated from Southwestern State College in 1959 with a bachelor’s in business. While at Southwestern she met Dennis Fine whom she married on June 1st, 1958. They had their first child, a girl, Lynn Denise born on June 13th, 1959. In 1963 they added a son to the family, Mark Allen, born on November 28th that year. Dennis was a coach so the family moved frequently over the years. They lived and served the community as educators in Center Colorado, Caldwell Kansas, Wilson OK, Weatherford OK, Lone Wolf OK, Grandfield OK, Erick OK, Fairfax OK, Tuttle OK, and Taloga Oklahoma. Mickey was a teacher of English, Business, and also was a certified librarian. In 1984 she was responsible for putting the first computer in the Tuttle High School Library. She enjoyed music, sports, and researching the genealogy of her family in her spare time. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her laugh and ability to tell a great story to anyone and everyone she met.
