The funeral for William Dwain Cope , 78, of Taloga, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Taloga Assembly of God Church. Ronnie Cope and Joshua Drury, pastors, will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, south of Taloga. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.

He was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Eakly to William Madison "Jack" and Opal Jewel Denham Cope and died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at United Methodist Health Care Center, Clinton.

He attended school at Colony. He married Imagene Nicewarner Sept. 20, 1950, in Weatherford. They made their home in Elk City. He worked in the oil field and they lived in several locations including Enid, Spearman, Texas, Darrouzett, Texas, Weatherford and Laverne, settling in Taloga in 1962. He worked many years for Shell Oil Co. retiring as a contract pumper. He attended a Colony church and Taloga Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his wife, Imagene of the home; two sons, Jimmy Cope of Amarillo, Texas, and Jerry Cope of Sayre; three daughters, Susan Bennett and Sandra Landreth, both of Taloga, and Sonya Wylie of Lee's Summit, Mo.; one brother, John Cope of Tawakoni, Texas; four sisters, Myrtle Ellen Sharp of Perryton, Texas, Betty Koch of Los Alamos, N.M., Nellie Colleen Mullins and Shirley Trammel, both of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two grandchildren.
