The funeral for Claudine Elizabeth Widney, 83, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Oakwood Christian Church. Pastors Shane Sander and Clyde Irving will officiate. Burial will be in Little Robe Cemetery , northwest of Oakwood. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
She was born Feb. 13, 1926, northwest of Oakwood to Claude Reginald and Susie Ada Liston Gillham and died at her home.
She was a 1944 graduate of Seiling High School and attended one year of college at Southwestern in Weather-ford.
She married Glen William Widney Dec. 21, 1947, in Seiling. They made their home northwest of Oakwood. He died April 5, 1991.
She worked for First National Bank in Seiling from 1945 to 1947. She worked at Dewey County State Bank in Taloga from 1965 to 1974. She worked at First State Bank in Watonga. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Opportunities Inc., Watonga, until she retired. She was active in Rainbow and Eastern Star and an inductee into the Dewey County Historical Hall of Fame in 2003. She worked on the farm and their Little Robe Ranch. She was a member of Oakwood Christian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Bivings of Ring-wood and Jacquelyn Molnar of Fay; one son, Jerry Widney of Oakwood; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, Glen, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two grandsons.
