Joe Hewitt
22 May 1930 ~ 2 Mar 2012

ENID - On the 2nd day of March, 2012, at 1:00 in the morning, Joe Hewitt left this world as we know it. He entered this world on the 22nd day of May, 1930, in Oakwood, Okla., the son of Ruth Malatka Hewitt and Leo Clyde Hewitt.

He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Eugene in infancy, Norman, Bus (Wayne) and Forrest.

Joe is survived by two sisters, Pauline, Oklahoma City, and Mary June and husband Bob, Burneyville; sister-in-law, Imogene, Canton; three stepchildren from a prior marriage, George, Jeff and Jennifer; and granddaughter, Tiffany. He also is survived by his wife, Gwen of the home near Canton; one son, Glen Hyden, Prague, Glenís wife Kim and their daughters, McKenna and Graceyn.

In 1971, he and Gwen were united in marriage.

He was a life-long farmer, living most of his life in Oklahoma with the exception of a few years in Idaho.

He was a veteran, having served in the Army.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Canton. Steve Driskill and Lloyd Lance officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Oakwood, under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
