Genareo "Nay" (Wynn) White

February 28, 1909 ~ August 12, 1999

Genareo "Nay" Wynn White was born February 28, 1909 at Carpenter, Oklahoma to Hugh F. and Laura Sullivan Wynn. She passed from this life Thursday evening, August 12, 1999 in the Seiling Hospital at the age of 90 years.

Nay's mother died when Nay was but three years of age. She then lived with her grandmother, Mahala Sullivan, most of the time. She attended school at Carpenter until she finished the eighth grade then moved to Leedey to attend high school where she lived with her sister, Leta Bowman. She graduated from Leedey High School with the Senior Class of 1928.

Nay was united in marriage with Johnny White on December 23, 1933. They lived their entire married life in Leedey.

Nay was employed by Smith's Cafe and Theatre for a number of years. She later worked as an attendant at the museum and as a reporter for the Leedey News.

Nay was a member of the Leedey Church of Christ for more than seventy years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny, on April 13, 1985. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her stepmother, Manta Wynn, a brother, Clell Wynn, and a sister, Leta Yeoman.

Survivors include a brother, Bailey Wynn of Oklahoma City; a sister, Velma Jean Herndon of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Mabel Fegel, of Leedey, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
