Donald Wade Robinson, Sr., resident of Leedey, Oklahoma passed from this life on August 29, 2008 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Donald was born on May 3, 1956 to Wade and Shanon (James) Robinson near Craig, Colorado.
Donald graduated from Craig Public Schools then enlisted in the United States Army on May 3, 1974. He received the National Defense Medal and had attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class when he was honorably discharged on May 2, 1972. He continued to serve his country by remaining in the reserve until 1980.
On April 27, 1974 Donald married the love of his life, Vicki Jo Shifflett in Oildale, California. The union was blessed with three children, Donald Wade, Jr., Cory Wayne, and Amanda Diane. The family lived in Fort Carson, Colorado and Woodward, Oklahoma before settling in Leedey, Oklahoma. Donald worked as a truck driver and in his free time he enjoyed woodworking and reading. He was baptized and was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory wife, Vicki Robinson of Leedey, OK; parents, Wade and Sharon Robinson of Craig, Colorado; sons, Donald Robinson, Jr. and wife Chelsea of Leedey, Oklahoma and Cory Robinson of Leedey, Oklahoma; daughter, Amanda Boggs and husband Jason of Leedey, OK, granddaughter, Baylee Smith of Leedey, OK; brother, Jim Robinson and wife Terri of Craig, Colorado and Betta Boatwright and husband Mike of Craig, Colorado; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in the Red Star Brethren in Christ Church, Leedey, Oklahoma with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
