Beatrice Dean was born March 27, 1917 in Moorewood, Oklahoma to Sudi and Jess Cates. She passed away on May 21,2011 in Oklahoma City at the age of 94. Beatrice grew up in Moorewood, Oklahoma and attended Moorewood Public School. On May 21, 1939 she was united in marriage to Allen Ray Dean. To this union one daughter was born, Betty S. Dean. She found great joy in working in the nursery at church taking care of infants for many years. She also enjoyed working at the cafe in Leedey for several years. She loved to make quilts for her family and friends. But her greatest joy came from being a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She always held a special place for her grandson, Richard Linthicum and great-grandson Joshua Linthicum, whom she loved to hear play music.

She is preceded in death by her husband Allen Ray Dean, grandson, Clarence Linthicum, brothers Lee Cates and Joe Cates, sisters, Gladys Hedge and Nina Craig.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Betty S. Dean-Murphy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma grandson Richard Linthcum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great-grandson Joshua Allen Lithicum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great granddaughters Shane Wilson of Oklahoma City and Jordan Kemp of Seminole, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Winnie Switzer, several nieces, nephews, other family and many, many friends.
