Sanie Lee Day

Sanie Lee Day
May 31st, 1931 ~ February 8th, 2026

Sanie Lee Day was born May 31st, 1931, at Camargo, Oklahoma, to Oan and Bertha Day and passed away on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, at the age of 94. He was a resident of the Okeene community for 45 years, where he was a carpenter and worked on many homes in the Okeene area and surrounding towns. He built the home where he and Edna spent the last many years together. He attended and graduated from Camargo High School in 1949. After high school, Sanie was drafted into the Army in Oct 1952; his discharge was in 1954 as a Corporal in rank. In Sanie’s younger years he enjoyed playing baseball.

After moving to Okeene, he was a member of the Methodist Church of Okeene, as well as the Okeene VFW. Sanie, like his wife Edna, was very active in all his grandchildren’s sports and livestock showing. One thing Sanie loved doing every day after retiring from his carpentry days was visiting his friends at the hometown coffee shop several times a day for coffee and visits. He was married to Edna Mae Graham at Leedey Methodist Church in Leedey, Oklahoma, on February 18, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Day; daughter, LaDonna Westfahl; parents, Oan and Bertha Day; brother, Fred Day, and sisters, Patsy Hanks and Peggy Wingo Goodson.

He is survived by:

One son, Mike Day, and wife Lori, of Ames, Oklahoma.

One son-in-law, Kenny Westfahl, of Okeene, OK

Two sisters, Barbara Arnold of Woodward, OK and Karen Haney of Elk City, OK

Five grandchildren, Luke and Laurie Westfahl, and children, Colin, Cameryn and Claire, of Edmond OK. Micah and LaChelle Westfahl, of Norman, OK; Drew and Kristin Westfahl, of Edmond, OK; Whitney and Luis Jimenez, and their children, Vanessa and Valerie, of Enid, OK, and Cody Day, of Ames, OK, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Wilkinson Mortuary, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family will greet friends and family from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services for Sanie Lee Day will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Okeene, Oklahoma, with Minister Quintin Wray officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen cemetery at Leedey, Oklahoma, with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
