Tracy Douglas Jones

Tracy Douglas Jones
October 9, 1968 ~ April 11, 2023

Tracy Douglas Jones was born October 9, 1968, in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Lanny Jones and Wanda Wright. He passed from this earth April 11, 2023, at the age of 54. Tracy was raised in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1987. He enjoyed playing football, baseball and showing livestock. He was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy when enlisting for the Army after high school. He organized many fundraisers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Tracy's favorite pastimes was fishing, hunting with his dad, and going to the casinos. He worked for J.T. Winters throughout his high school and adult years chopping wood, plowing fields and working cattle. He also worked for other farmers in the Mooreland area plowing, planting and harvesting wheat. He was always so proud and worked long hours and would ask his family to come out to the fields to explain the work he was doing. Tracy also worked for Haines Pipeline and Neosho Construction. He traveled to many places including Arkansas, Colorado, Texas and Louisiana. He had many stories to tell his family of his adventures.

Tracy's pride and joy was spending time with his nephew Trey. He would take Trey driving the country roads and loved taking him for rides in the tractor.

Tracy was baptized as a teenager in the United Methodist Church and had a devoted love for Christ.

He enjoyed his mothers cooking and always looked forward to her visits and her bringing him his favorite dish of goulash. In the summer he was always calling his sister asking her to bring him his favorite Black Diamond watermelon (he could eat a watermelon a day). He always kept you entertained and had an endless supply of jokes to tell.

Tracy was determined to live on his own despite the difficulties he faced every day from muscular dystrophy. He faced it with admirable strength, determination and dignity.

Tracy is survived by his mother Wanda Wright and husband Harold of Scott City, Kansas; sister, Trina Hutchison and husband David of Guthrie, Oklahoma; nephew, Trey Hutchison and wife Justyce of Woodward, Oklahoma; great niece, Adelynn Jane; brother-in-law, Danny Hutchison of Woodward, Oklahoma; many aunts, uncles and special cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lannon Theodore Jones; grandmother Ula Evans; grandfather Henry Jones; grandfather Elroy Heinitz and grandmother Jane Heinitz.

Burial following service at Camargo Cemetery.
