Jimmie Joe Hardesty, 67 year old resident of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 20, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Jimmie was born May 10, 1948 to John and Edna (Peck) Hardesty in Hansford County, Texas. Jimmie grew up in Gruver, Texas where he graduated with the class of 1966.

After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1967-1970 with a final rank of Staff Sergeant. Jimmie than attended Panhandle State University and graduated in 1973 with a B.A. in Business.

In 1970, Jimmie married the love of his life Mary Carman at the First Christian Church in Camargo, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born Michael, Franklin, Michelle, and Joseph. The family lived in many different cities in Oklahoma; Guymon, Stilwell, Tahlequah, Fairview and Beaver, were he served as Post Master of the United States Postal Service for the city of Forgan before he retired and moved to Kingston.

Jimmie had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, camping, carpentry, and dreaming. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Beaver, OK, were he served as an elder. He was currently attending the Kingston Church of Christ. Jimmy also served as Scout Master with the Boy Scouts. Jimmy won many awards in his lifetime which include the Purple Heart with cluster, Bronze Star, and World’s Greatest Dad. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Preceding Jimmie in death are his parents John and Edna Hardesty and three brothers Dennis Hardesty, Earl Hardesty and Steve Hardesty.

He is survived by his wife Mary Hardesty of Kingston, OK; three sons Michael Hardesty, wife Martha and children Brendon, Kade and Ryder of Montgomery, TX, Franklin Hardesty, wife Heidi and children Emerald, Jade and Sapphire of Hamilton, OH, Joseph Hardesty and children Donovan and Meadow of Hydro, OK; daughter Michelle Shoemaker, husband Shane and children Shawn, Samuel and Alexandria of Joplin, MO; brother John Hardesty and wife Norma of Elk City, OK; sister Wanda Goolsby and husband Earl of Wilcox, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
