Kenneth Verdell Woods, Jr., (Woody), was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 18, 1986 to Kenneth, Sr. and Janet Woods. He departed this life on August 1, 2020 at his home in Longdale, OK.
Kenneth attended elementary school in Fairview and Seiling, OK while moving to several different homes in this time. The family then moved to Longdale, OK where he attended middle school and high school. He worked on the rig for Unit oilfield company under his dad for a brief time after meeting his ex-girlfriend Laci Taylor, having their children Aubre’e and Brett, and moving to Norman to have a normal and good life. The two later went separate ways while leaving the two children under the care of their paternal grandparents. Kenneth then moved back to his hometown of Longdale. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, eating, and traveling on fun adventures. In or around 2018, he was tragically stricken with CDIP and struggled with it for some time before learning to get around life with the disability. He has since learned to work his wheelchair well and even gotten up to walk up stairs on his own.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Melissa Haworth and brother-in-law Eric Haworth of Hennessey, OK; paternal grandparents Charlie and Dorothy Woods of Chester, OK; maternal grandmother Karen Coulson of South Dakota; He is survived by his parents, Janet and Kenneth Woods, Sr. of Longdale, OK; sister Linzy Ross and husband Jacob of Weatherford, OK; children Aubre’e and Brett of Longdale, OK; nieces and nephews Kenly Haworth, Kyler Haworth and Gabriel Ross; many aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Brumfield Cemetery with Reverend Orville White officiating. Services are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
