James Edward (Eddie) Rogers, 62 year old resident of Seiling, OK, passed from this life on April 27, 2019 in Seiling. Eddie was born May 5, 1956 to Jim and Nelda (Bishop) Rogers in Pratt, KS. Eddie lived in Pratt until he was 16 years of age then the family moved to Woodward, OK. He graduated with the class of 1974 at Woodward High School.
On March 12, 1977, Eddie married Cindy Rogers at the First United Methodist Church in Woodward, OK. To this union three sons were born Jerrad, Jeramy, and Casey. The family lived at various cities from 1977 to 1985 including, Woodward, Elk City, Williston ND, WatfordCity, Brighton, Marion, and Chester. In 1985 they made their residence in the Seiling area. Eddie worked in oilfield and as a ranch hand.
Eddie loved hunting and fishing and taking care of his mules. He was a lifetime member of the National Fishing Club and National Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the NRA. On August 30, 2015 Eddie was baptized in the old cow tank at the Bar C Cowboy Church. He attended the Bar C Cowboy Church and First Christian Church. He was a very dedicated member and loved helping at all the events including buckouts, trail rides, cookouts, and camping. His favorite scripture was Matthew 19:26. He was very devoted to his faith and his family.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Nelda Rogers and grandson Jesse Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of the home Cindy Rogers, three sons Jerrad Rogers and Fiancé Erica of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeramy Rogers and wife Rachelle of Seiling, OK, and Casey Rogers and wife Esther of Stillwater, OK; brother Joe Rogers and wife Trish of Woodward, OK; eleven grandchildren Jesse, Kathryn, Alexis, Carey, Jadden, Jack, Ryanna, Riley, Logan, Taylor, and Jordon; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Brumfield Cemetery in Seiling, OK.
Memorial Donations in Eddie's honor may be made to the Bar C Cowboy Church with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236 Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
