Seiling – The funeral for Betty Delores Ricketts, 69, will be 10:30 AM Friday in the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Michael Brien officiating. Burial will be in the Brumfield Cemetery.
She was born October 10, 1928, at Tonkawa to Walter Frank and Nola Elizabeth Neill Wilson and died Tuesday, December 30, 1997, at the Seiling Municipal Hospital.
She married Floyd Ricketts on September 12, 1947, at Stockton, Kansas, and they made their home in McPherson, Kansas, where he worked in the oil fields. They moved to Seiling in 1964. They purchased a truck in 1969 and did cross-country hauling together until his health failed and he had to retire. She pursued a career in nursing, completing nursing school at Woodward and becoming an LPN. She worked at Seiling Municipal Hospital for many years and later as a home health nurse, caring for people in their homes.
She attended the Seiling Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Rita Huntsberger of Hennessey; one son, Danny Ricketts of Seiling; one brother, Donald Wilson of Ramona; three granddaughters; four great – grandchildren; and one step – grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Area Medical Foundation with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
