KENNETH RAY JAQUITH

April 15, 1929 - July 29, 1982

Kenneth Ray Jaquith, of Seiling, passed from this life July 29, 2018, in Bethany at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 14 days. He was born in Seiling on April 15, 1929 to William "Ray" and Eithel Jaquith.

He grew up in the Seiling area, where he graduated from Seiling High School. Kenneth then attended Oklahoma A&M for a year, before a motorcycle accident forced him to return home.

Kenneth continued living in the area, farming mostly wheat and cattle.

On June 26, 1950, Kenneth was united in marriage to Kathryn D. (Queen) Jaquith in the First Christian Church parsonage. To this union one child, Gayle, was born.

Kenneth liked to tinker, and would acquire a new hobby every few years. He built his family's first color TV and stereo himself, and at various points would assemble model trains, planes, and go-karts. He was a pilot and enjoyed being a Flying Farmers member. He collected coins and guns and would often go black powder hunting. He grew orchids.

Later in life, Kenneth and Kathryn would travel the United States making stops in every state except Hawaii and Alaska. He also enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder games.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Eithel; his wife Kathryn of nearly 60 years, in 2010; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Mayes, Elna Albro and husband Paul, R.E. and Cula Burch; and two cousins Bob Brady and Judy Weeks.

He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Jaquith of Oklahoma City; sister Y'Lova Jean Mayes of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Athaleen Webb and husband Clifton; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service for Kenneth is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Adair presiding. Burial follows at the Brumfield Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Kenneth's honor may be made to the Brumfield Cemetery Association, c/o Redinger Funeral Home, Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
