PEGGY JEANETTE HARRELL

May 07, 1932 - June 13, 2017

Mrs. Peggy Jeanette Harrell, daughter of the late Henry Clay (H.C.) and Ina Maye (Webb) Sander was born on May 7, 1932 on the family farm west of Seiling. She passed from this life on June 13, 2017 in Woodward at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 6 days. She attended Seiling Schools. She was united in marriage to Cecil (Beans) Harrell on September 11, 1947. This union lasted 69 years and 6 months.

Peggy and Beans met at the horse racetrack in Seiling called Little Louisville and that created a love for the races that took them all over the United States, especially the southwest portion. They trained horses in Raton, NM, El Paso, NM, Phoenix, AR, Denver, CO, and Albuquerque, NM. As well as working at the barns, she worked at the May Company in California. She was the top seller of bedding multiple times. In 1985 they moved back to Woodward, OK where they ran the Sand Hill Training Center for horses. She officially retired in 1993. Quickly after her retirement she found a love in flowers and gardening, as well as reading. She also loved her two cats, Bo and Stinky. When Oklahoma got their own NBA team, Peggy was an instant fan. To her family she was their #1 fan every time they visited, she would ask you if you had seen the game. Even if you had, she would still give the play-by-play of what occurred. Peggy was an amazing cook and her Cheese Queso was her nieces’ favorite. In her lifetime, Peggy was always a faithful giver to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

According to Beans… In their marriage he and Peggy only had one fight… and it is still going on!

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, H.C. and Maye Sander, six full siblings: N.L. (Squint), Elnora, Everett Clyde (Bill), Georgia Sills, H.C. (Jerry), Jr., and Bob; six half siblings: Jack, Homer, Orville, Orva, Ralph, and Mary Velma Carter.

Peggy is survived by her husband Beans of the home; two sisters: Christine Parsons and Beverly Autrey of Seiling; Nieces: Lori Nichols of Chester, Kerri Cooper of Seiling, Rea of Phoenix, and Nancy of West Virginia; Nephews: Dale Harrell of Canute, and Lynn Harrell of California. With the big family that Peggy was born into, she also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM FRIDAY, June 16, 2017 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Brumfield Cemetery.

Memorial Donations in Peggy’s honor may be made to the Seiling Public Library, with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
