Floyd Hillard Hanson

November 19, 1920 ~ October 28, 1999

Seiling – The funeral for Floyd Hillard Hanson, 78, will be 2 PM Sunday at Richmond Christian Church with Ewel Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Brumfield Cemetery under direction of Redinger Funeral Home of Seiling.

He was born November 19, 1920, at Chattanooga to William Martin and Alta May Prigmore Hanson and died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Seiling Municipal Hospital.

He was raised and educated in Chattanooga. He served in the Army during World War II and was an infantryman during the Battle of the Bulge.

On September 10, 1949, he married Lola Ruth Knowles in Enid. They made their home in Seiling where he was a self-employed automobile mechanic, owning and operating his own service garage until his retiring.

He was a member of Seiling American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Seiling; three sons, Martin of Preston, Kansas, Ronnie and Tony both of Seiling; four daughters, Cheryl Gambrel, Clara Voss, Sandy Peters and Mary Nowlin all of Seiling; one sister, Clara Dodds of Las Vegas; one brother, Wilburn Hanson of Ada; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.
