Barbara Jane Evans, of Seiling, daughter of Guss and Viola Redinger, was born
November 5, 1943 in Fairview, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on December
28, 2018 at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 23 days. Barbara was raised on the
family farm near Chester, Oklahoma where she attended the Lakeside and Chester
Schools. She graduated from Seiling High School with the Class of 1961 and later
attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. She was
united in marriage to Edgar Don Evans in Dewey County in August of 1962 and to
this union two children, Eddie and David were born.
Barbara worked as a Sales Manager for a company that supplied goods to military PX stores. She at various times lived in Abilene, TX, Germany, Ft. Sill, Ft. Benning, San Antonio, TX, and El Paso, TX with her family while Edgar was in the military. The job she loved most however, was being a Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Barbara would often babysit for her grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bill Redinger and Don Abbott, and sister-in-law Goldie Redinger.
She is survived by her two sons, Eddie Evans of Chester, OK and David Evans and wife Yvonne of El Paso, TX; two brothers, Bob Redinger of Seiling, and Wayne Redinger and wife Cindy of Chester, OK; a sister Jeanie Simmons and husband Wayne of Chester as well as four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services for Barbara Evans will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Brumfield Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Chester Community Building Fund or the OneLife Church with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
