ENID — Clarence M. Edwards, son of Nin and Ora (Heffington) Edwards, was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Lamar, Ark. He departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid at the age of 85 years.

He moved to the Seiling area with his family at the age of 4. He attended Seiling School and graduated in 1944.

He was united in marriage to Doris Clark Aug. 27, 1945, in Taloga. They made their home in the Chester community, where they raised their only son, Jerry Ross.

Clarence worked for Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Co. until July 1983. Doris preceded him in death Aug. 11, 1992.

He married Elsie M. Weber June 2, 1993, in Longdale. They have made their home near Canton since. Clarence has been engaged in farming and ranching for many years and raised Hereford cattle. He was a member of Major County Cattlemen's Association and he and Elsie attended Longdale Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Edwards, of Canton; one son, Jerry Edwards and wife Sally of Chester ; one stepson, Gene Stanford and wife Nancy of Edmond; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Honeyfield and husband G.M. of Fort Cobb; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Hammon and Betty Reed, both of Tulsa, Pauline Long of Davenport and Lois Hedrick of Chester . He also is survived by many other relatives and friends.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded by his parents, one sister Alene Squires and two brothers, Lawrence and Glen Edwards.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Redinger Funeral Home Chapel, Seiling, with Ray Schoonmaker, pastor of Longdale Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Brumfield Cemetery , Seiling.
