Chris Edwin (Ed) Burchett was born on May 4, 1952 in Thomas Oklahoma to parents William (Bud) and Betty Lee (Armstrong) Burchett, and he passed from this life on April 3, 2021 at the age of 68 years 10 months and 30 days. Ed was a lifelong Seiling resident. He grew up attending the First Christian Church in Seiling and it was here that he gave his life to the Lord and was baptized. He attended Seiling schools graduating with the class of 1970. After graduation, Ed attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for a time before joining the workforce.
Ed worked for Dewey County doing road service, he was also employed in the oilfield business by Irving Roustabout and Mustang Fuel. He enjoyed helping his father farm wheat on the William Sander original homestead. Ed enjoyed attending the Richmond Country Church and helping to make repairs to the church building. He also very much enjoyed learning and talking about history.
Ed was blessed with 2 children, Echo and Stanton.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents William (Bud) and Betty Lee Burchett, his grandparents: Roy and Vesta (Sander) Burchett, and Lee and Bessie (Livingston) Armstrong. Also preceding him in death was an infant brother Terry Dean.
He is survived by his children Echo and Stanton and step-daughter Cristy; Sister Cheryl Burchett, sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Michael Murray, nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Stephen, Amy, and Seth, also many cousins and many friends.
Private burial services were held at Brumfield Cemetery, with Pastor Michael Brien officiating.
Memorial Donations in Ed’s honor may be made to the Richmond Country Church or the Area Medical Foundation in c/o Redinger Funeral Home, Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
