C.B. (Calder Billy) Brown, 81 year-old resident of Guthrie, OK, passed from this life on December 28, 2019 at his home in Guthrie. CB was born on September 10, 1938 to Marvin William and Leone Mildred (Tyree) Brown in Okeene, OK. CB attended and graduated Seiling Public Schools where his family owned a farm 11 miles east of Seiling in the Fonda Community. CB worked as a welder, and was farmer of wheat and rancher of cattle. He also started the Longhorn Builders with his good friend Scotty Goss. CB was married to Linda Sue Briix on June 17, 1986 in Oklahoma City, OK and took their honeymoon in Hawaii. In marriage, Linda brought three daughters, Marilyn, Karin, and Kimber, into CB’s life. The couple would farm in Seiling and spend summers in Del Norte, CO and winters in Casa Grande, AZ before moving to Oklahoma City in 2010. CB and Linda made friends all over the United States and Canada because CB never met a stranger. CB was a member of the Seiling Volunteer Fire Department, and 56 year member of the Seiling Masonic Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and entertaining for friends. He was known for reading recipe books, and enjoyed traveling and cruises.
CB is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Leone Brown; brother, Charles Brown, and three sons: Bruce, Monty, and Brent Brown.
CB is survived by his wife Linda Brown of the home; daughters Marilyn Welty and husband Tom of Leedey, OK, Karin Tieaskie and husband Ron of Edmond, OK, and Kimber Arthaud of Guthrie, as well as several other family and friends. CB was also very proud of his grandsons Tanner Bohard and Weston Bohard of Guthrie, and they had a special place in Grampy’s heart.
Memorials in CB's honor may be made to the Brumfield Cemetery Association in care of Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663)
