Rowena Marion "Roe" (Buffalomeat) Beaver

Rowena Marion (Buffalomeat) “Roe” Beaver, (Cheyenne Name: Mókéé ‘e “Little Woman”) was born on June 11, 1957 in Clinton, OK to Raymond and Norma (Black) Buffalomeat. Roe passed into the next life on October 1, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 62 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

Roe grew up in the Seiling area, graduating with the Class of 1975. She worked as a Certified Nurse in the Seiling area for many years with the hospital, nursing home, and in home health. She also worked with the Lucky Star Casino after her “retirement.” Roe was a Harley-Davidson girl and loved riding motorcycles and attended the Sundance. She will also be remembered for her jokes and one-liners, and was always trying to make people laugh.

In addition to her parents, Roe was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Isabella Marion McCracken; sister, Josephine “Jo” Buffalomeat; and nephew Burl K. Buffalomeat.

She is survived by her companion of 23 years, Cujo Night Walker of the home; two daughters, Tamra Ortega and husband Cornelio of Seiling, OK, and Tabitha Beaver and companion Corey Blackwolf of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and three siblings, Dana Buffalomeat and husband Denny Standingwater; Susie Wolfmule and husband Tim; and Burl Buffalomeat and wife Francie as well as many other aunties, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A traditional Cheyenne Wake will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the C-1 Community Building.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Seiling, OK with burial to follow at Brumfield Cemetery.
