Berta June (Mullin) Black
September 1, 1934 ~ April 19, 2025

Berta June Black, 90-years-old was born September 1, 1934, the first child of James Riley Mullin, Sr. and Lucy Pauline (Clary) Mullin. She left to be with pastor husband and our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

She married James Edward Black, August 6, 1949. They raised three children, Betty Jean Roe, Retha June Morris and Donald Ray Black. Also, an adopted daughter, Vida Black. They have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Lucy Mullin, her husband Edward and their daughter Betty Jean (Black) Roe. Her siblings, Bertha Jean Moorhead, Joan Black, Jimmy John Mullin, and Jerald Les Mullin had also departed this life earlier.

June is survived by her son Donald Black of Asher, OK, daughter Retha Morris of Oklahoma City, adopted daughter Vida Black, four brothers, Jack Mullin of Connecticut, Joe Bob Mullin of Pryor, Junior Mullin of Pryor, Bill Mullin of Springfield, MO, three sisters, Judy Summerfield of Pryor, Mary Steal of Pryor, Bonnie Sue Huerta of Las Vegas, Nevada. Several grand and great-grand-children. She was blessed with many other family and friends enjoying live on God’s earth.

June’s was a life of service. She cared for her children, supported her husband and served our Lord as a life-long Christian.

Ed pastored a number of churches over the years. Beginning with the First Assembly of God in Gravette, Arkansas, the Cross Roads Church near Asher, Oklahoma, The Assembly of God in Fairland, Oklahoma, followed by a period of missionary service with the Navajo folks in Kayenta, Arizona.

In all these churches, June was there supporting Ed’s efforts and helping to steer souls to Jesus.

We will miss June, but know she is in a better place with Ed and in the presence of God. We are all blessed for having spent much of our life with her. We are indeed better people because of it.

The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor, Pastor Junior Mullin will officiate. Interment will follow at the Zena Cemetery, Zena, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in care of the Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care of Pryor.
