Nancy Faye Shorter, age 69, died on December 31, 2010 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma.
Nancy was born on March 16, 1941 in Trails End, Oklahoma to William T and Fannie Francis (Woods) Craig. Nancy were united in marriage to Harry Shorter Sr. in August of 1964 in Syracuse, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of the Butler Baptist church; she enjoyed sewing baby blankets, hauling hay, and cutting wood and all sorts of puzzles.
Nancy is survived by three children Oleta Ryan, Cherokee Shorter, Cobb Shorter and five stepchildren; Harry Shorter Jr., Ralph Shorter, Christy Davis, Harold Shorter, Randal Shorter, four siblings Bonnie Hobbs, Linda Mullin, Karen Smith, and Larry Craig. She was also was blessed with 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepdaughter Victoria Bloom, sister Alice North and grand-daughter Mattie Garner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday January 7, 2011 at the Butler Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Smith officiating and co-officiate Pastor Butch Gilliam. Interment will immediate follow at Polson Cemetery. Family and friends may leave online condolences by viewing Nancy’s obituary at www.honoringmemories.com.
