Catherine “Cathy” Leona Nuckolls, age 78, died on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma.
Cathy was the daughter of Rhudell (McCullough) and Chester Earl Pipkin; she was born on March 16, 1933 in Osceola, Arkansas. Cathy graduated from Wilson High School in Wilson, Arkansas. She was united in marriage to Bill Nuckolls in Rockford, Illinois in 1955. Traveling a lot with their children when they were younger, Cathy and Bill have been residents of Grove, Oklahoma since 1972. She worked as a waitress at Shangri-La Resort. Cathy also enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Chester Earl Pipkin, Jr., Raymond Oliver Pipkin, Horace Mallory Pipkin and Claude Emmerson Pipkin.
Cathy is survived by her husband Bill Nuckolls, one son; Keith Nuckolls of Grove, Oklahoma, four daughters; Cathy Turner of King George, Virginia, Cindy Nuckolls of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Judy Cartwright and her husband Chris of Grove, Oklahoma and Nina Moman and her husband Reece also of Grove, Oklahoma. Cathy is also survived by five siblings Donald Ray Pipkin, Ronald Lee Pipkin, Jesse Joseph Pipkin, Mavis Gidian Pipkin and Carolyn Evan Pipkin Calabrese. Cathy was blessed with ten grandchildren; Matthew Turner, Erin Turner, Jamey Jackson (Bernard), Lisa Clem, Jennifer Proctor, Brian Proctor, Kelli Proctor, Jason Moman, Tyler Moman, and Kayla Moman; and seven great-grandchildren Alexis, Jayden, Kinsley, Caden, Julia, Brenee and Tanner.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday November 4, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Doug Rainbolt officiating. Cathy will be laid to rest in the Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma. Family and friends may leave online condolences by viewing Cathy’s obituary at www.honoringmemories.com.
