Louise Paris Miller, 63, a friend to many people, died February 26, 2011, following a sudden illness. Louise was born on February 1, 1948, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Jack and Rosemary Buetow Paris. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1966, and attended Christian College for Women in Columbia, Missouri. She then completed her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Oklahoma State University. After working as a flight attendant with Braniff International Airlines, Louise married David C. Miller on September 4, 1976. They lived in Colorado, North Carolina and New York before settling in Grove, Oklahoma where she taught elementary school for over thirty years. Louise had been named “Teacher of the Year” for her unit in Grove Upper Elementary School, and was a fourth grade teacher at the time of her death.
Louise was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, a former member of PEO, and had participated in the Methodist Church Choir and hand-bell programs.
Her father, Glenn E. Paris, Jr. (“Jack”), preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, David C. Miller, Grove, Oklahoma; son, Dustin Miller, Fayetteville, Arkansas; and mother Rosemary Buetow Paris, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other survivors include a sister, Nan Fry and her husband, Steve, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and sister, Maria McBee, and her husband, Billy, of Dallas, Texas. She had six nieces and nephews as well as a countless number of friends.
Louise touched the lives of many, and will always be remembered for her kind and giving heart.
The family will greet friends at 6:00 PM, March 1, 2011, in the Chapel of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Grove with Reverend Gary Bishop and Reverend Randy Hamill officiating. Interment will follow at the Olympus North Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
