Chester Wayne Melton, age 62, passed away on November 26, 2017 at his residence in Grove, Oklahoma after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Chester was born on February 27, 1955 in Lamar, Colorado. He was the son of James Monroe and Joyce Yvonne (Warmar) Melton.
Chester moved to Grove in 1997, from Stratford, Texas. He was a self employed carpenter/handyman and took care of the residents of Shadow Brooks Estates.
Chester was preceded in death by his father James Melton, his brother Jimmy Lee Melton, sister Connie Jean Melton and great nephew Tyler Evan.
He will be dearly missed by his mother Joyce Melton, his six brothers; Richard, Tim, Randy, Jesse, Jerry and Ronnie Melton, and his six sisters; Sharon Melton, Annie Singleton, Terry Barrow, Sherry Payrot, Joyce York and Dollie Ketcher and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of residents and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017, and services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017 both held at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove. Chester will be laid to rest in the Olympus Cemetery.
