Nann Yvonne (Scott) McCreary
June 27, 1935 ~ May 18, 2014

Nann Yvonne McCreary, 78, of Bird Island, OK, was born on June 27, 1935 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Scott, and mother Midget (Harris) Scott.

Nann is survived by her husband George McCreary, daughter Keven Cole and husband Kemp, son Scott McCreary and wife Amanda, grandchildren Trey, Emily and Andrew Cole, Mitchell, Kendall, Kennedy and Mallie McCreary, great granddaughter Brooklynn Cole and brother, Glenn Scott.

Nann was born in Caddo, Oklahoma, and spent most of her childhood in Heavener, Oklahoma. She went to college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK and taught 3rd grade for many years in Vinita.

Nann loved the family ranch in Vinita, but was thrilled to retire at The Coves, Grand Lake where she played golf and enjoyed the company of her many friends. Nann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a person everyone considered a true and dear friend. She was a vibrant, joyous and fun person to be with in good times, and a steady rock in the hard times.

Nann was strong in her faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, which was clear from the Fruits of the Spirit displayed in her daily life. She was the true embodiment of Philippians 4:12, "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

Nann was truly a blessing to all those who had the good fortune to know her, and we will cherish the day we can be with her again in Heaven. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1 pm at the Cleora United Methodist Church, 451154 East 295 Road, Cleora, with Pastor Stephen Nation officiating.

Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
