Graveside services for Phyllis Irene Strong, 86 of Tahlequah formerly of Rose will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2007 at Elm Cemetery in Leach, OK with Brother Rob Pierce officiating. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Locust Grove.
Phyllis was born August 3, 1920 in Alva, OK to Vernis and Mayme (Carey) Jackson. She died March 21, 2007 in Tahlequah, OK.
Phyllis grew up and attended school at Kiowa, Kansas and Alva, Oklahoma. She married Henry Clayton Strong on July 21, 1938 in Leach, Oklahoma. She had lived in the Rose community since 1937. She loved her flower garden.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Thompson and husband Doug of Rose, OK; five sons, Frank and wife Mary of Rocky Ford, Guy of Tulsa, Charlie of Broken Arrow, Jack and wife Lana of Rocky Ford and Tony and wife Aida of Locust Grove; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren; nephews and niece Kenneth, Gary and Lavonna Jackson all of Tulsa; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Davis, 2 granddaughters, Kim and Angela and 2 great grandchildren.
