Jackie Rolland Strong was born November 13, 1945 in Rocky Ford, OK to Henry Clayton & Phyllis Irene (Jackson) Strong. He departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home at the age of 72 years, 11 months, & 19 days.

Jack attended school at Rocky Ford thru the 8th grade. He graduated Oaks High School in 1964. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On May 23, 1973, in Locust Grove, OK, Jack & Lana Regina Harper were united in marriage. The couple had been married for over 45 years, making Rocky Ford their home for the last 40 years.

Jack worked as a self-employed concrete contractor for over 25 years. He also worked as a dairyman for over 15 years. As well, Jack was a cattle rancher for most of his life. He loved tending to his cattle & land.

Jack had a deep passion for old, classic cars. He maintained & worked diligently to keep his vehicles spotless. Most of all, Jack loved his family dearly & treasured the time he spent with each of his grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Jack is survived by: His wife: Lana Strong of the home; 1 son: Chad Strong & wife Shelly of Leach, OK; 3 grandchildren: Whitney Philpot, Tanner Philpot, & Ridge Strong; 3 brothers: Tony Strong & wife Aida of Locust Grove, OK, Charlie Strong & wife Deann of Broken Arrow, OK, & Guy Strong of Tulsa, OK; 1 sister: Nancy Thompson of Leach, OK; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 daughter: Kimberly Philpot; & 1 brother: Frank Strong.

Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Elm Cemetery near Leach, Oklahoma. Reverend Maxie Thompson will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
