Salina-
Douglas James Carroll, “Dougie”, born on April 5, 2005, in
Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Okarche, Oklahoma, at
the age of 20. His untimely departure leaves a profound void in the hearts
of those who knew and loved him.
Douglas was a kind soul, known for his genuine heart and unwavering compassion towards others. He had an innate ability to uplift those around him, often offering words of encouragement to his peers and coworkers. A lover of life and all its simplicities, Douglas was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His spirit shone brightest through his hobbies and interests: he cherished moments spent duck hunting and fishing, found joy in playing the guitar and harmonica, and treasured the time spent with his friends and nephews.
He attended Salina High School, graduating with the class of 2023, and furthered his education at Northeast Tech. It was evident that Douglas was passionate about pipelining, a field he deeply cared about and was eager to explore. He liked to refer to himself as the “Straw Boss.”
He is survived by his parents, Eliza and Robert Carroll; his sisters, Courtney Carroll and Beau Sappington, along with their son, Kole, Brittany Rogers and her husband Jett, along with their son, Kolt, Shelby Carroll, and Gracy Carroll, all of Salina, Oklahoma. Douglas is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Anita Childers of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Jeannie Campbell and Vernon of Neosho, Missouri, and Bob Carroll and wife Sandy. His family circle includes aunts Dawn Childers of Salina, Oklahoma, and April Stimson of Pryor, Oklahoma; uncles Richard Dollarhide of Leach, Oklahoma, Tim Leach of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and Duane Bark of Salina, Oklahoma; as well as numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
Douglas is preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Todum and Annie Hair; paternal great grandparents, Coweta Todd and Richard Ausbrook, and Norman and Hazel Carroll. He is also preceded in death by his uncles Jonathan Childers and Todd Bark, great uncles Richard Chewey, Andrew Hair, Earl Hair, and Greg Ausbrook, and cousin Talitha Turner.
Funeral services for Douglas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2025, at Blue Springs Church with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating.
