Funeral services for Donald Truman Spangler, 79, of Southard, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00, Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Fay School Auditorium with Phillip Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery south of Fay under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Oklahoma.

Donald Truman Spangler was born November 16, 1940 near Fay, Oklahoma to Marvin and Orpha (Roberts) Spangler. He departed this life on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Donnie was raised in the Fay community and graduated with the class of 1959 at Fay High School. He married Lela Marie Londagin on July 18, 1959 at Fay United Methodist Church. Donnie loved family outings and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed time spent outdoors, helping with the annual wild game feed at Fay and taking care of his cattle. He will be missed by his coffee friends at the quick shops in Longdale, Canton and Fay.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kent Spangler and twin brother Ronald Spangler; an infant sister; and twin great-granddaughters Riley and Rissie Haigler. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years Lela Spangler of the home; three daughters, Trudi Gibson and husband Roger of Canton, Oklahoma, Dawnna Haigler and husband Dean of Canton, Oklahoma and Marsha Mackie and husband Rob of Ames, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Kelli Spencer, Kara Martinson, Kaitlin Martinson, Brandi Haigler, Grady Haigler, Levi Haigler, Garret Wilson and Hunter Mackie; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Jayden, Peyton, Koplyn, Hayden, Zane, Kyler and Landon; one great-great-grandson Zek; many cousins, family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Fay Community Association through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at
