Donald Paul Thompson

June 4, 1950  ~ October 26, 2019 (age 69)

Donald Paul Thompson was born June 4, 1950 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Ruth Wilma (Thompson) and Milton Silas Thompson. He passed away October 26, 2019 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 22 days.

Don grew up in Elk City where he attended school graduating in 1968. After graduation he furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, Oklahoma where he obtained his bachelors degree in May of 1972. Don began his 30 year career with the Department of Human Services where his duties saw him doing just about all jobs associated with that field of work and also spanned Beckham, Roger Mills and Greer counties. He retired in 2015 and spent his retirement enjoying the University of Oklahoma football games, riding his bicycle and exercising.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Linda Beals, Elk City, OK and Ruth McGlone, Cynthiana, KY and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Independence Cemetery in Vincent, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
