Caleb Christopher "Chris" Axtell, III

Nov. 19, 1957 ~ October 25, 2007

 Caleb Christopher “Chris” Axtell, III, was born on Nov. 19, 1957 in Hobart, Okla. to Bart and Lula (Edwards) Axtell and passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. Chris was raised and attended school in Weatherford, Okla., graduating from Weatherford High School in 1976. On Jan. 8, 1977, he married Beverly Luekenga in Colony, Okla. and they made their home in Weatherford. In 1983, Chris started his own roofing company, Chris Axtell Roofing, which he was still active in. Chris enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to Colorado, barbequeing, going to the lake, spending time with his family, and OU football. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Weatherford.

Chris is survived by his wife, Beverly of their home in Weatherford, Okla.; three daughters, Kesha Axtell and fiancé, James McGlothlin of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kaci Reed and husband, Kenneth of Weatherford, Okla., and Kenzie Axtell of Weatherford, Okla.; one brother, Jamie Axtell of Weatherford, Okla.; and one sister, Becky Tucker and husband, Windle of Elk City, Okla.. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Tammy.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Truman Smith and David Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
