Mary Alice Stults was born in Jackson County, Texas in 1871 on April 30.

She moved with her family to Oklahoma in 1900.

She was married to J. F. Bowman July 15, 1890 in Clay County, Texas. There were five children born to this union, 1 preceding her in death, leaving her husband, and four children to mourn her departure form this life; being Bessie Cloud of California, Nellie Armstrong of Butler, Oklahoma, Harvey Bowman also of California, and Haskell Bowman of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

Mary Alice Bowman joined the Dunkard church in 1888 and has been faithful to her Lord and Master to the end.

She was a faithful loving wife and mother, always thinking of her home and family. She was loved by all who knew her and always lent a willing hand to those around her.

The remains were taken to Butler where a large host of friends had gathered to pay the last tribute of respect. After the servicxes were conducted by Rev. J.A. Rott of Carpenter, Oklahoma, the remains were laid to rest in the beautiful little cemetery known as the Edwardsville Cemetery, Butler, Custer County, Oklahoma overlooking the old home.
