Trout, Carolyn K. (Cabaniss), 67, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Toledo, Ohio. She was born June 13, 1945 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Dale and Maxie Lee (Wells) Cabaniss.
Carolyn was a secretary for many years with Brink's Armored Car Service, OKC before going to Gladieux Inc. of Toledo, Ohio retiring after several years of service.
Carolyn enjoyed reading anything that she could get her hands on, collecting turtles, a good game of wahoo or spades. In her younger days, she enjoyed league bowling. Because of her hayfever, Carolyn was not allowed to pick cotton with the other siblings; therefore, she helped her mother in the house and became a wonderful cook. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her special yorkie, Cheyenne.
Carolyn is survived by her father,
Dale Cabaniss of Clinton; daughters, Tammy Steele and husband Dan of Falls
Creek, PA and Tina Challis and husband Ricky of Clinton; son, Paul Warner
and fiancé Karen of Toledo, OH; sister, Judy Stehr and husband Darrell of
Clinton; brother, Roger Cabaniss and wife Connie of Clinton; grandchildren,
Cale Challis and wife Darcie, Kevin Wheelden and fiancé Kendra, Chaillie
Challis, Benjamin Steele and Austin Steele; and a host of family and
friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maxie Lee Cabaniss and
sister, Nola Faye Cabaniss.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. – 9:00
p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 with the family greeting friends from 6:00
p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle, Clinton.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 900 Frisco Ave., Clinton, OK with interment following in the Clinton Cemetery. Arrangements for Carolyn and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
