Memorial services for Norma Irene Wesner Rowlett, 79 year old Clinton, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 10:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Oklahoma with Rev. Carol Waters officiating under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Irene was born August 3, 1926 in Foss, Oklahoma to John and Lora Rogers Wesner. She was the 5th of five children and the only daughter.

Irene died on March 26, 2006, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a short illness.

She graduated in 1944 from Cheyenne high school in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

From 1943-1959 she was married to David Lee Casady.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwestern State Colledge in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1962. From 1962 until 1965, she taught high school English in Clayton, New Mexico in 1965. Following completion of her Masters in English from Oklahoma University, Irene returned to Southwestern as a member of the English Department faculty where she remained until her retirement in 1986.

In 1966, she married Olen M. Rowlett, who died in 1990.

Irene Rowlett was a remarkable women - she preserved her humor and dignity in the face of difficulties that would have overwhelmed most of us.

She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Irene is survived by hedr brother, Leon Wesner and wife, Margaret of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Linda Kay Casady Jones of Beijing, China; sons, William David Casady and wife, Fawn of Bakersfield, California; John Charles Casady and wife, Paula of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Timothy Robert Casady of McAlester, Oklahoma; and Kelly Marvin Casady of Kingman, Arizona; stepdaughters Kristy Jean Gothelf of Oradell, New Jersey; and Kathy Wuthrick of Peoria, Illinois; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Donovan, Dale, and Brian.

Burial in Clinton cemetery, Custer county.

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
