Services for Nova M. Dorsey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were October 21, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kern-Schneider-Kiesau Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Clinton. Mrs. Dorsey died October 19, 1992, in the Southwestern Memorial Hospital, Weatherford.
Born February 15, 1906, at Greenville, she was the daughter of K.P. and Viola L. (Patton) Peery. She and her husband were half owners of the Dorsey Fruit Market in Clinton. Mrs. Dorsey had lived in Clinton for 11 years before moving to Weatherford in 1946. She continued to live there until 1954 when she moved to Idaho and to Fresno, California, before moving to Baton Rouge seven years ago. She married Lewis P. Dorsey in 1927, and he preceded her in death in 1954.
Survivors include three daughters, Onieta Louise Dressler of Mustang, Valieta Aliene Routon of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, and Helen Sue Smith of Arco, Idaho; a brother Lovell Peery of Marietta; seven grandchildren, Richard Dressler of Mustang, Robert Routon of Rustin, Louisiana; Rox Routon of Greenwell Springs, and Valerie Hall, Sheila Wood, Shawn Smith, and Shane Smith, all of Arco; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dorsey was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Renee Routon.
Interment was in the Clinton Cemetery.
