John Armstrong, 60 year old resident of Woodward, Oklahoma died Sunday, June 15th, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20th, 2014 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton, Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. All services are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Johnny Grant Armstrong was born August 13th, 1953 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Louis Grant and Peggy Armstrong. He was reared by his grandparents, Dick and Nel Armstrong and also his aunt and uncle Pete and Lavern Armstrong. John graduated from Clinton High School. After high school, he enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. John enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving for three years. He was united in marriage to Linda Hodge and to this union one son, Christopher, was born. John was later united in marriage to Becky Ann Merriott and to this union one son, Rob, was born. He moved to Woodward and began working for Marcy Distributing as the Bud Man for the next 28 years. John worked at William S. Key until he retired in January of 2013.

John is survived by two sons, Chris Armstrong of Des Moines, WA; Robert Armstrong of Stillwater; other family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, one brother, Doug Maxwell Armstrong.
