Loyd C. Smith

June 17, 1905 ~ February 20, 1988

Funeral services for Loyd C. Smith, 82, Foss, were held at 10 a.m. today Tuesday in the Kern-Schneider-Kiesau Memorial Chapel with Rev. M.L. Stegall officiating. Burial was in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kern-Schneider-Kiesau Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born June 17, 1905 in Johnson County, Arkansas, the son of Thomas J. and Florence Garland Smith and died Saturday morning, February 20, 1988 in South Community Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He moved with his parents to Hughes county, Oklahoma and to Custer county in 1926.

In 1932 he married the former Dora Armstrong and she preceded him in death in 1973.

He farmed all his life on a farm four miles south of Butler.

Survivors include two sons, L. D. Smith of Clinton; and Franklin H. Smith of Foss; one daughter, Arthur Smith of Eufaula; one sister, Flerdia Walker of Modesto, California; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends.
