Funeral services for James Earl Marker, 91, Enid, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Rick Dominic officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.  Committal prayers and interment will be in Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, Oklahoma, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

James was born on August 12, 1925 in Drumright, Oklahoma, the son of Noah and Viola Oliver Marker, and passed away peacefully on July 18, 2017 in Enid. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was assigned as Gunner on Aircraft Carrier during World War II. James was honorably discharged in on April 3, 1946 and on May 26, 1946, he married Ila Maxine Finney. They celebrated 57 years together prior to her passing in 2003.  James worked as a custodian at Douglas, Marshall, and Covington Schools from 1964 until retirement in 1990.  He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as  coyote hunting, fishing and judging dogs at wolf meets.  Survivors include his children, Earl Dean Marker, Alan Duane Marker, Roberta Lee and husband Tony Malaska, and Robert Dale and wife Donna Marker; grandchildren, Melody and Larry Eagleman, Earl, Jr. "Bo" and Charity Marker, Amanda and Marty Schubert, Jillian Malaska, Jamie and Brad Digby, and Junior Marker, Darsha and Barry Schvienk; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Madyson, Branson, Mattison, Ryan, Austin, Aiden, Ashton, Aubree, Alana, and Brynlee. In addition to his wife, James was preceded in passing by his parents, one brother and five sisters.  Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
