Jim was born in Drumright, Oklahoma on October 19, 1936 to the late Homer Wilson & Esther (Bohannon) Wilson. He passed from this life at his home in Lubbock, Texas on November 4, 2024 at the age of 88 years. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a proud graduate of Drumright High School and after graduation he volunteered for the National Guard, serving in the reserves. On October 11, 1957, he married the love of his life, Nancy Shore, and together they embarked on a journey that took them to various states due to Jim's career in the fuel industry. Jim's work for ST Services led him to Alabama before transferring to Amarillo and finally to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he worked until his retirement. In 2021, they moved to Lubbock to be near their son and daughter-in-law. A true cowboy, Jim had a lifelong passion for calf roping and later enjoyed team roping. Roping took Jim and his family around southern New Mexico where he gained many friendships and mentored young cowboys, including his son and son in law. In addition, he was a talented musician, singing and playing the guitar, playing the steel guitar, fiddle, and bass in many country bands in the area, more notably at the Golden Spur. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Darrell - Don - Freddie, and Wanda Bennett.
His remaining family includes his loving wife: Nancy of the home; Son: Scott Wilson & wife Sheila; Daughters: LeeAnn Bain & husband Leland. Amy Pinnell & husband David; Grandchildren: Sarah & Brandon. Seth - Leah & Cody. Lauren - Nicole & Mike - Clint & Jennifer; 11 Great Grandchildren; PLUS several Nieces. Nephews. Cousins - & other family members.
