James Dale Hester

January 10, 1948 ~ August 1, 2025

Funeral services for Drumright resident, Dale Hester, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8th in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Justin White of the Mannford First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Drumright Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are entrusted to the care of Michael' Funeral Home of Drumright. Dale was born in Yale, Oklahoma on January 10, 1948 to the late Clovis Dale & Helen Lenora (Ishmael) Hester. He passed from this life in Tulsa on August 1, 2025 at the age of 77 years, 6 months, & 22 days. Dale was raised & educated in Drumright and was a 1966 graduate of Drumright High School. He continued his education at Central State University in Edmond, graduating in 1970. While still in college, he married Marrilyn Morton in 1969 & to this union 3 children were born. After he graduated college, he took a position with Shell Oil & the family moved to Houston, Texas. After a few years with Shell, he moved back to this area and began working for his father-in-law at Morton Drilling in Bristow, then later began his career at Cimarron Pipeline in Drumright. He had worked the majority of his life in pipeline construction and was Co-Owner/Operator of HLH Construction in Drumright until his retirement. He had also been an instructor of Pipeline Safety at Central Tech in Drumright. After his wife's death, he met Marilyn Flatt and since 2015 they have shared their lives together and blended their families. Dale enjoyed many things in life including hunting, fishing, and driving fast cars. In addition to his Parents & Wife, he was preceded in death by a Great Grandson: Briggs Flatt.

His remaining family includes his CHILDREN: Amber Hester & husband Brandon Woody of Tulsa, Darrin Hester & wife April of Foyil' Matt Hester & wife Jennie of Snyder, also his SWEETHEART: Marilyn Flatt & her CHILDREN: Derek Flatt of Midwest City, Kimberly Kelley & husband Scott of Drumright; their combined GRANDCHILDREN: Alex & Kaitlin, Paiton, Bear, Athena, Zeph, Megan & Jacob, Emmalynn - Josia, Baylee, Karley, Tanner, Duncan, Braydon & Bryson; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Pippa, Lincoln; BROTHER: Mike Hester & wife Robin of Sand Springs; PLUS several other extended family members & numerous friends.
