GIBSON—Kathleen, age 93, long-time resident of Drumright, OK, died Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021, at Porta Caeli Hospice House, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born in Sulphur Springs, Alabama, Mrs. Gibson moved as an infant with her family to Drumright where her father worked for the Tidewater Refinery. She graduated Drumright High School and has attended and served Drumright First Baptist Church all of her life, becoming a member at age nine in 1937.
Mrs. Gibson is predeceased by her lifetime partner and husband, Hayden Gibson; her father, Marvin Hartline; mother, Jessie Black Hartline; stepmother, Nina Klump Hartline; beloved grandchild, Jaye Donovan Gibson; sisters Clara Petty, Addie Belle Watson and Helen Duckworth; and a brother, Lonnie Hartline.
She is survived by two sons, both of Tulsa: Jimmie Don Gibson and wife, Joyce; and Mike Gibson; one daughter, Selena Patterson and husband, James, of Houston; five grandchildren: Josh Gibson, Jessica James, Jamie Patterson, Clayton Gibson and Alex Gibson; and two great grandchildren: Maddie James and Callie James.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 229 S. Ohio St., Drumright, with the Rev. Monty McGee and the Rev. Jimmie Don Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Drumright.
The family will receive friends following the church services in the church’s welcome center. Those wishing to make a contribution as an expression of sympathy are asked to make a donation in Kathleen’s name to the rock of her life, Drumright First Baptist Church.
