Alvest Tommy Trout, Jr

Alvest Tommy Trout, 81, of Bristow, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by his family on November 17, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1944, to Millard Alvest and Katie Marie Trout, Tommy grew up in Bristow where he attended school until his final year when he graduated from Slick High School in 1963. That same year, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Jean Fortney, on September 28. Together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family, raising three children: Delva, Darrel, and Garrel.

Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was also a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge, where he held the esteemed position of Exalted Ruler, reflecting his commitment to community and fellowship.

A man of many talents and passions, Tommy found joy in woodworking, working cattle, gardening, fishing, and hunting with his beloved beagles. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Trout; his children, Delva Bird and husband Dale, Darrel Trout and wife Tina, and Garrel Trout and wife Amber; and his brothers, David Trout and Danny Trout; grandchildren, Dale Thomas Bird, Dalena Black and husband Matthew, Brianna Tipton and husband Reese, Dalton Bird and wife Samantha, Arial Trout, Daley Bird, Dusty Trout, Christopher Trout and wife Chelsae, Paige Jones and husband Matthew, Colten Trout, Faith Barrett, and Gracey Barrett; great grandchildren, Brylee, Mattie, Axel, Rhett, Kylie, Piper, Charlotte, Grant, Jackson, Tallulah, Hayes, Cartwright, Isla, Devyn, and Paisley. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Barbara Brown, and one great grandchild, Eliott Avery Black. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Chapel. Family will be present to visit with friends.

Services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home with interment at Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
