Leona Belle Jones Parker

Leona Belle (Jones) Parker was born June 4, 1936, to Ira Lester and Bonnie (West) Jones in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She departed this life September 26, 2024, at the age of 88.

She graduated from Kellyville High School as Valedictorian of her class in 1954. Leona was united in marriage with Arthur J. Buchanan and from this union were born six children, Dale, Kenneth, Arlena, Daneda, Peggy, and Tony.

Leona retired from Walmart, where she worked as department manager of electronics. She was a member of the Blue Bell Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, going to work, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Dale Buchanan and wife Jana of Bixby, Kenneth Buchanan and wife Toni of Bristow, Arlena Rhodes of Sallisaw, Daneda Dolbin and husband Tim of Springtown, Texas, Peggy Parrick of Depew, and Tony Buchanan and wife Victoria of Magnolia, Texas; aunt, Alma Wright; grandchildren, Larry Clayton Coleman, Kristin (Coleman) Peerson, Matthew Buchanan, Hannah Buchanan, Beth Buchanan, Brian Patterson, Kimberly Patterson, Scott Christy, Melissa (Plett) Richardson Brittany Plett, Benny Plett, Delbert Parrick, Brandy (Parrick) Potter, Stephanie Parrick, Kyle Buchanan and Tyler Buchanan; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William “Bo” Jones, Bert Jones, and Daniel R. Jones: father of her children, Arthur J. Buchanan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00PM, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Kellyville City Cemetery.
