Graveside services for Cushing resident, Amy James, were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Highland Cemetery at Oilton, OK. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright.
Amy “Sissy” James was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on June 26, 1950 to the late William Edward Daugherty & Ruby Mae (Veach) Daugherty. She passed from this life in the Linwood Nursing Home at Cushing on April 27, 2016 at the age of 65 years, 10 months, & 1 day. Amy was raised & educated in Vinita. She moved to the Drumright / Cushing area as a young adult & married Charles Don James on July 11, 1973 in Castle Rock, Colorado. They made their home in this area & raised 2 children. Amy was a homemaker & enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting her pistol, taking care of animals, crocheting, & doing arts & crafts. She loved spending time with her friends & family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a GRANDSON: Zachary Don James.
Her remaining family includes her HUSBAND: Charles Don James, Sr. of Cushing; CHILDREN: Charles Don James, Jr. & Christi Lynn James, both of Drumright; GRANDCHILDREN: Steven Titus – Brandi Wilson- Rebecka Randall – Emily James – Myka Ryker – Carley James; Great GRANDCHILDREN: Faith Wilson – Carter James – Axel Titus; BROTHERS: William “Hootie” Daugherty of Ketchum – Robert “Bobby” Miers, Jr. of Kentucky; SISTERS: Rosa “Pete” Wyrick of Tuttle – Janice “Chuck” Walton of Kansas, OK; also numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives, and a host of loving friends.
