Mary Ann Clawson Deeds

October 7, 1941 - October 18, 2014

Mary Ann Deeds, a longtime Oilton resident, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at her home at the age of 73 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Oilton.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Ok.

Mary was born on October 7, 1941 in Yale, Oklahoma to the late Abraham J. and Vasca Naoma (Comer) Clawson. She grew up in Yale, Oklahoma and graduated from Oilton High School in 1959. Mary began working for the OU Health Science Center as a file clerk and later was promoted to manager of the accounting department. Mary retired from OU medical after 27 years. She was a BIG OU fan throughout her life and also enjoyed cooking for others. Mary spent many years taking care of her parents. She loved to travel, and camp at the lake, especially enjoying trips to Colorado, and Branson. Mary lived for her daughter and her family. She loved taking care of everyone she knew. Mary always found a reason to stop and buy things for her nieces and nephews. Mary loved her grand kids, one could say she had a big enough heart to love all she knew.

Mary is survived by her husband Kenneth of the home, one daughter: Vasca Naoma Stanley and husband Wesley of Moore, one step-son: Kenneth W. Deeds of Oilton, two brothers: Jack Clawson of Oilton, Bill Clawson and wife Patty Lynn of Oilton, four sisters: Patty Sue Turner of Oklahoma City, Katheryne Randolph and husband Raymond of Mannford, Wilma Jean Jones and husband Herman of Oilton, Shirley Brown of Mannford, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Jim, John, and Leland Clawson, two step-daughters: Linda Dixon, and Teresa Gore.
