Funeral services for Drumright native, Rocky Rockhold, were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Drumright First United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Drumright Greenlawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright. Billy Ray “Rocky” Rockhold, Jr. was born in Cushing, OK on January 13, 1952 to the late Bill Ray Rockhold, Sr. & Jacquetta Irene (Cook) Rockhold. He passed from this life in Tulsa on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the age of 63 years, 11 months, & 17 days. Rocky was raised & educated in Drumright & was a 1970 graduate of Drumright High School & Wall of Fame inductee. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma but returned to Drumright to work in the business his parents founded in 1968, Drumright Auto Supply. Rocky had continued his parents legacy, working behind the counter until his death. He married Lexy Holt in Drumright on March 21, 1975 & they raised 2 sons, Jeremy & Nick. Rocky's contributions to his community, citizens, and the youth have spanned his entire life. He was involved in the Drumright Jaycees, coached baseball for many years, taught gun safety & hosted marksmanship competitions, and for over 25 years, was a leader & role model for numerous young men in the Boy Scouts of America. In 2014, his countless hours of dedication, both personally & professionally were recognized by the Drumright Chamber of Commerce by receiving the Citizen of the Year Award. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a SISTER: Janie Rockhold.
Those left to mourn his passing include his WIFE: Lexy; 2 SONS: Jeremy & wife Bobbie, & Nick; 2 GRANDCHILDREN: Kelsey & Devin; a SISTER: Christy Rockhold, all of Drumright; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, several other relatives, & friends.
