Don G. "Pete" Erwin was born on April 28, 1924 in Oxford, Arkansas. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 30, 2022 at the age of 98 years, 6 months, and 2 days. Pete married Nancy Irene Holeman on February 24, 1947 and they raised 3 children in the Olive community. He and Nancy were known for raising a big vegetable garden and sharing it with neighbors and friends. Pete worked for several local oilfield well servicing companies and then later for Unit Rig of Tulsa. He was well known for his work ethic, love and dedication to his family; for his faithfulness to his church, his pleasant attitude, and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hugh & Thelma (French) Erwin; his wife: Nancy in 2000; a daughter: Pam Cox in 1999; grandson: Tony in 2004; an infant sister: Nina; sisters: Sybil Davidson and husband John & Theda Mae Holeman and husband Oscar; twin brother: Dean "Jack" Erwin and wife Mary Jane; brother: Rexal Erwin and wife Cliva; sister-in-law: Janie Erwin; brother-in-law: Jackie Rogers; and in 2020, his second wife: Doris Disel.
His remaining family includes 2 SONS: Larry Erwin & wife Patricia - Jerry Erwin; a SON-IN-LAW: Bob Cox; 4 GRANDCHILDREN: Amy Powers & husband Chris, Brian Cox, Erick Erwin & wife Sharon, Jamie Girten & husband Jerad; 5 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Reagan, Koelton, Maddyx, Grey - and Gage; 2 BROTHERS: T.W., Dub, Erwin & wife Barbara, Hugh, Junior, Erwin; 3 SISTERS: Billie Clark & husband Austin, Linda Daniels & husband Ronnie, Armilda Rogers; PLUS several nieces & nephews - other relatives - & friends.
