William Francis DeShazer, 82, of Bristow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on May 17, 1943, in Olive, Oklahoma, to Jess and Annie DeShazer, William lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and devotion to those he loved.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. On January 15, 1966, he married the love of his life, Sheila Hinshaw. Together they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and love, raising one daughter, Shannon.
William worked for many years as a skilled code welder, known for his precision and dedication. After retiring, he continued to serve his community and faith as a member of Welcome Tabernacle Church in Stroud, Oklahoma. His hands were rarely idle, he found joy in woodworking, fishing, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his cherished family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sheila DeShazer; daughter Shannon Williamson and her husband Danny; grandchildren Joshua Williamson, Moriah Adams and husband Lonnie, and Jordan Williamson and wife Alisha; and eight great-grandchildren: Pasha, Caleb, Phayte, Hope Williamson, Michael, Elizabeth, Emma Adams, Rachel Williamson and baby sister coming soon.
William is also survived by his sister Jean Hammock and husband Jerry; brothers Sam DeShazer and wife Connie, Lloyd DeShazer and wife Carol, Jerry DeShazer, Mickey DeShazer and wife Joyce, Leon DeShazer, Dean DeShazer and wife Teressa, and Russell DeShazer and wife Cindy; and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sarina DeShazer; brothers Raymond, Jessie, and Steven DeShazer; sisters Vesti DeShazer and Bobbie Taylor; and great grandson Kyler Williamson.
William's legacy is one of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Welcome Tabernacle Free Holiness Church, Stroud, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Brooks Cemetery, Silver City, Oklahoma.
